About Peacock Butterfly:
While researching butterflies native to Italy, I came across the Peacock Butterfly and was instantly captivated. Its vivid eyespots reminded me of the Buckeye Butterfly I’ve painted before—one of my favorites—but this one felt like its European cousin, equally bold and mesmerizing. I haven’t yet seen one in person, but painting it became a small intention, a wish to one day cross paths with this beauty in the wild. There’s something magical about the way its wings seem to look back at you—like nature’s quiet way of saying, I see you too.

Aglais io. Native to Europe and temperate parts of Asia, the Peacock Butterfly is easily recognized by its dramatic, eye-like markings. It hibernates through winter in dark shelters and emerges with the first warmth of spring, symbolizing awakening and renewal.

About the Golden Halo Collection:
Each miniature painting celebrates light, resilience, and the quiet wonder found in nature’s details. Watercolor, gold ink, and acrylic medium combine to form delicate studies of flora and fauna—butterflies, moths, and wildflowers—that invite us to pause, notice, and be restored by nature’s beauty.

Born from a desire to slow down and reconnect, Golden Halo continues my exploration of stillness and renewal through the natural world. Every piece reflects my belief that beauty can be found in even the smallest subjects—each framed by a radiant circle of gold, symbolizing the light that endures within and around us.
